Nokia X6
X6 is Nokia’s 5th proper Touch-Screen Phone. The slim, stylish and feature packed phone is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of this year. X6 has created a buzz of enthusiasm as well as speculation in the ranks of reviewers and tech-lovers. X6 has dimensions of 111 x 51 x 13.8 mm and weighs 122 grams which is quite understandable when looking at its packed specs-sheet. Its 3.2 inches, 360 x 640 pixels TFT capacitive screen boasts 16M colors which promises an good display quality.
Like most Nokia smart phones, the Nokia X6 will get the full range of Ovi services, including the new Ovi Store, Ovi Maps 3.0 and Nokia Music Store. In some countries, Nokia X6 will be sold with the “Comes with Music” option, though Nokia recently announced that it’ll delay the launch of Nokia Music Store until 2010 in the United States. Beyond Ovi, the Nokia X6 will offer Push Email, Nokia Email, SMS and MMS messaging.
X6 has, like its predecessors, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, Handwriting recognition and a Scratch-resistant glass surface which shows Nokia’s commitment to make its new devices elegant as well as rugged.
Nokia has fulfilled the promise that X6 will be a music phone. X6 will come with a 3.5mm audio jack and Nokia Stereo Headset (WH-500) and a music leaflet. The seemingly endless internal memory of 32 GB also adds to the fact that you can have all your favorite music wherever you want, whenever you want.
Nokia X6 has it all as far as data connectivity is concerned, GPRS, HSCSD, Edge, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP and MicroUsb. It boasts a 5 MP, 2592×1944 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus camera with Dual LED flash and Video output of 30fps, the camera quality of most of the Express Music Phones have not been up to the standard set by NSeries devices, so it remains top be seen whether this camera stands up with Nseries devices or is once again a let-down. A photo editor is a welcome edition, which will allow the users to tweak their photos before publishing them on net directly from the phone.
X6 has a built in GPS receiver with Ovi maps 3.0, a new feature og Geo Tagging has also been added which was previously missing in many smart phones. The Symbian OS v9.4 is powered by ARM 11 434 MHz processor with 128 Mb of RAM. A stereo FM radio with RDS is also included as expected. The phone has Java MIDP 2.0 and FlashLite 3.0 support. Nokia has vowed to improve auto-rotate sensor games. You will find Spore, D Mix Tour, Asphalt pre-loaded in the phone, other games can be downloaded via internet.
The X6 also has WMV/RV/MP4/3GP video player, MP3/WMA/WAV/RA/AAC/M4A music player, TV-out, Voice command/dial, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and T9.
A stand by time of up to 420 hours, up to Up to 8 h 30 min of talk time and 35 hours of music play is promised by Nokia. The only let down which is once again hard to believe is that there is no out of the box Document Editor and there is no Xvid support
